IMPROVING YOUR CARE (New Data Sharing with Stepping Hill Hospital):
Until now, if you needed emergency treatment in the hospital, the doctors and nurses (clinicians) have not had access to the healthcare information on your GP's computer system.
From November 2017 clinicians in the A&E department at Stepping Hill will start to use a system that will allow them to have access to your full GP records. This will help clinicians to give you safe and effective treatment that is tailored to your needs and medical history.
Unless you opt out completely, each time you go to A&E for emergency treatment, you will be asked for your permission for the clinicians to view your medical records.
If you would not like your information shared with clinicians in the hospitals, or would like to know more, please speak to a member of practice staff.
We are pleased to remind you that we provide you with an online service for booking appointments, ordering repeat medication and updating your information.
Please use the following weblink: https://patient.emisaccess.co.uk/ and follow the instructions to register for this service. (document attached showing instructions and examples of the screens you will see). Please open as a read only document. If you have any problems please do not hesitate to contact a member of our Reception Team who will be happy to advise you.
Following advice from NHS England everyone now has a named accountable GP, however all patients can still see which ever GP they choose for their consultations. If you wish to know who your named GP is please contact Reception/Secretaries. However if you receive repeat prescriptions from the Practice, your named accountable GP will be detailed on the prescription.
Welcome To Bramhall Health Centre
Bramhall Health Centre is a long-standing teaching practice (we help teach qualified doctors who are training to become General Practitioners and are involved in teaching medical students).
There are seven doctors operating from a purpose-built accommodation in the centre of the village (90% of our patients live within three miles of the centre of the village). We have thirteen thousand patients registered in the practice.
The building also houses other services run by NHS Stockport such as the dressing clinic nurse, counsellors, district nurses, health visitors, midwives, physiotherapists, speech therapists and podiatrists. This provides an ideal basis for a primary health care team approach to problems.
The practice is dedicated to providing a high level of medical care for our patients. We continuously strive to improve our services by encouraging staff attendance on update courses, organising in-house teaching sessions and audits for all staff.
Our Catchment Area: To see if you live within our designated catchment area, please copy the link below into your internet browser and you can enter your postcode to see if you are within our boundary.
Bramhall Health Centre Building
Please note that the Bramhall Health Centre building is owned by NHS Stockport and not by the doctors in the practice. NHS Stockport is also responsible for the maintenance of the building including fixtures, fittings, cleaning and decorations including paintwork. If you feel the building is not being maintained or decorated adequately, then we would encourage you to write to the following address: NHS Stockport, Regent House, Heaton Lane, Stockport SK4 1BS.
The Health Centre has suitable access for disabled patients. All the Patient areas including the Waiting room, and consulting rooms have Wheelchair access.
The Surgery has a Hearing Loop at Reception for patients hard of hearing and with a hearing aid to use. We also have portable hearing loops available for use during Nurse or Doctor consultations. If you would like to use this when you attend the surgery please let Reception know. You will need to switch your hearing aid to the 'T' position.
